Finally got some time to fiddle around with the VH4. Last weekend I had one practice with it then shot a live video outdoors, so there wasn't much time to mess with it, except for running channel 3 flat out .

These channel inserts are the bees knees  . I don't use any effects normally, but throw a little delay and flange on with leads. So, i got out the rack, put the GCX audio switcher in and the Ground Controller. Got things wired up so the GC is talking to the amp to kick the channel insert in and out and the GCX wired up to the channel inserts to select either or both effects. The rig is so quite and all true bypassed and is so awesome. Got the Ubershcall layered in there as well through an Axess Electronics splitter, running clean with no effects. No more pedal board with miles of leads strung out and none of that tone thieving mess going on.

Still waiting on my dual head roadcase for the VH4 and Ubershcall (and the forklift to lift it   ) I have roadcases for everything else, but of course, the VH4, being the size of a small deep freeze won't fit into anything!

Lost one of the stock SED's E34's already. Moisture may have got it last weekend from outdoors. Threw a matched quad of JJEL34L's in it that I had for the Ubi. Not much change that I noticed, but I have always had great reliability from the JJ's.

That's me out. Gonna load up the fridge to go make some noise and do some recording with the boys today . I am so pleased with the VH4 that I may be feeling the urge to spend some more money to help out the German economy :D .

Peter - you rock dude!!!!

Just renovate the house for the new lady !!!

:D :D :D

What's the thoughts on the Diezel 1X15 cab. Got a 4x12 FR on the way and was thinking that running the VH4 both. Don't like it through the Mesa Recto at all. Sounds best through the Bogner Uber cab, but want to use it for the Uberschall. For the same money, a 1x15 or another rear load 4x12?

Oh, yeah,
good question. I´d like to know, how does the VH4 sounds with 1x15 Diezel cabinet and together with FL 4x12 .. my FL 4x12 is on way to me too :D

All the best

I didnt know diezel even made a 1x15 thats killer i was told it wasnt made anymore when i got my head back over a year ago. Why dont you liek the oversized mesa recto cab? Im curious? I have that and a front loaded diezel and i think for low tuning heavy chugging the boogie does better but for leads the diezel sounds better. How does the uber compare to channel 3 on your vh4? My vh4 has stock 6l6's im going to change to 34s soon.

I really don´t like Mesa Boogie cabinets,
in my opinion, when you have VH4, or other head, on Mesa Boogie cabinet, it sounds really a lot like Mesa Boogie and not like Diezel. That cold bassy and trebly sound of Mesas. I don´t really like these cabinets.
But only my opinion :)

I agree with the Mike. The Mesa cab sounds flabby without much dynamics at all. But, the Diezel sounds great through the Bogner Ubercab. Actually, the Uberschall sounds better in the Mesa cab to me, as I run it with the mids and presence all the way down and the treble and bass up around 2:00. Makes for a good mix with the VH4 running with mids and presence up on Ch3. Will see when I get the front loaded cab here. Damn shippers are taking forever from the US. Was thinking about getting away from the V30's all together in a cab and get me an Orange cab with G1275's in it. Keep buying more cabs, I may need another head soon. 3 isn't enough

As for the 15's, one shop in the states, Matts Music (http://www.mattsmusic.com) is advertising 1 and 2 x 15 Diezel cabs. He never has a damn thing in stock though, so call or email before you pull the trigger.
