Finally got some time to fiddle around with the VH4. Last weekend I had one practice with it then shot a live video outdoors, so there wasn't much time to mess with it, except for running channel 3 flat out .
These channel inserts are the bees knees . I don't use any effects normally, but throw a little delay and flange on with leads. So, i got out the rack, put the GCX audio switcher in and the Ground Controller. Got things wired up so the GC is talking to the amp to kick the channel insert in and out and the GCX wired up to the channel inserts to select either or both effects. The rig is so quite and all true bypassed and is so awesome. Got the Ubershcall layered in there as well through an Axess Electronics splitter, running clean with no effects. No more pedal board with miles of leads strung out and none of that tone thieving mess going on.
Still waiting on my dual head roadcase for the VH4 and Ubershcall (and the forklift to lift it ) I have roadcases for everything else, but of course, the VH4, being the size of a small deep freeze won't fit into anything!
Lost one of the stock SED's E34's already. Moisture may have got it last weekend from outdoors. Threw a matched quad of JJEL34L's in it that I had for the Ubi. Not much change that I noticed, but I have always had great reliability from the JJ's.
That's me out. Gonna load up the fridge to go make some noise and do some recording with the boys today . I am so pleased with the VH4 that I may be feeling the urge to spend some more money to help out the German economy .
Peter - you rock dude!!!!
