Nova Delay

I just ordered up a TC Nova delay. What would be the best way to run it with my Einstein, through serial or parallel loop, or at the end of my signal chain. I've been playing for 25 years, and this will be my 1st real effect pedal (besides a wah). I run a little alligator volume pedal into a bad horsie 2, into a tu-2 tuner, and that's it. Honestly, I've never, ever, used an effects loop in my life, so I'm a bit unsure of what the best option is here. I just hope it doesn't change my tone when bypassed, as the Einstein sounds killer when dry. Anybody else have any Nova experience with their Diezel?

Thanks!

Delay's sound sooo much better in the effect loop. It doesn't even compare to running in the front. I have a Vh4 and I run a Damage Control Glass Nexus thru the serial loop, I could not get things to sound right in the parallel loop.
Allot of people don't like to use the serial loop because it is directly in your signal path all the time and certain effects/cables can degrade your tone a bit. I don't seem to mind it in my serail loop at all, maybe a touch of tone loss but I am running really good patch cables to and from the effects unit and it seems to work great.
I would try both loops and see what works for you, make sure to read the manual and do what it says as fr as setting the levels on your effects and the levels on the amp if you are trying the parallel loop.
Good luck!!

I'm a little like you in the fact that I don't like to use any f/x as they tend to suck tone. I've got a T-Rex delay pedal which I run in the parallel loop of my Herbert, which is routed to be footswitchable. This seems to be the best solution. When engaged it's so good I can't even tell if it changes my tone at all, obviosly when disengaged it's not even in the signal chain.

If you can run the Delay in full wet mode, parallel. If not (like many many pedals and even rack gear): serial.

great thing is the diezels loops are hands down the best on the market, so even in series the loss is minimal, i mean the room/house PA will have far greater affect on your tone than the loops.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I'll experiment with the loops and see what sounds best. Crap, guess I'm gonna have to order up a couple more long cables, too.

Peace ;)

If you need to use a pedal in the loop - think about a remote controllable looper too. No kilometers of shielded, treble sucking cable, just one to remote control a single effects unit.

Like Nobels Alex. Or something from axess electronics.

para - looper well save your tone. there are a few around 50 or so that are ok.

so did you buy the nova? what do you think about it and how does it work with your einstein? im really thinking about getting one but ive read too often that it has no true bypass and that the sound loss is immense?!?! :aww: :scared:

I did get the pedal, and so far I do like it. I've found that as long as you calibrate it properly, it doesn't have any volume loss. If it is sucking any tone, it's not enough to really tell. I'm running it through the serial loop, as it didn't like the parralel loop. My only major issue, is that it doesn't want to work being powered by my BBE Supa Charger. I recently got rid of all my wall warts, and now it seems I 'll have to deal with another one. Honestly, it's so irritating, that I'm thinking of selling the nova, and getting a Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay. It's a little bit more coin, but it does exactly what I am looking for in a delay pedal. I really don't need all the features that the nova has. All that being said, I do think it's a very good delay for the price/features. I just wish I would have known that it wasn't compatible with my BBE-SC before I bought it.
