I just got done tinkering with the settings posted above. They all sound great and a bit similar... Except for Tony. His settings are evil sounding and remind me of black sabbath

Yea! You Got It Brotha! A HEAVIER DEEPER! BLACK SABBATH!

But Guess What? You ain't seen nothing yet... Try it with the Cameron Cab & 4 CL80's (Dark & punchy)

And your Guitar is Bright Alder with a Maple neck I have a San Dimas so I know... It's my least favorite sounding guitar... Also pushing 55ma in High, the amp has waaay better feel. Plus Punch & Growl!

If you had that cab, and plugged in an LP or PRS with Duncan Blackouts.... You would REALLY SHIT! :D

This is what makes it fun!

Thanks,

Roid

I will have a cab as soon as Mark ships it... :gethim:

I was using a LP tonight. In fact , I have been using my LP for tge last few days.

That's AWESOME! And Please put at least 2 CL80's in it!

I've never seen you play anything but the Charvel! I love mine, it play's great, I just can't get the brightness out of it.

What kind of P/U's do you have in the LP? I have a Ebony LP Standard with a Plecked Neck, and locking tuners... That is my Favorite by FAR has the Slim 60's neck, as I can't play regular Thick LP necks!

Just dropped a set of BKP Nail Bombs in my 59 LP. These fuckers got some dirt on them and they do scream. Motor City 2nd DBB's in a 60's LP (Roid Neck :D ) and they are a little more tame, but very creamy with just enough bite. Favorite is the Motor City Afwayu right now in the G&L Cantrell. Very responsive to pick attack and loads of edge and dirt.

Got the other CL80's and wired them up. Four of them just isn't doing it for me bro

Think I am going to go back to the Uber set-up and check out 2-V30's and 2-T75's. Will then check out a combination of V30's and some Scum M75's (4 of them with Cameron didn't work either). If none of these work, then I will probably go back to V30/K100 X.

Maybe need also to try 2-H30's with something.

Really...

I'm surpised! 4 Lead 80's are my favorite with the CCV by far... I do favor a dark not bright sound... What don't you like about them? And you realize they have to break in a good while too right?

Did you try 2 and 2 H30's like Mark likes?

Tighter than tree bark Tony. I may take them out and throw some DC voltage to them and let them flex for a week or two to break them in. The Cameron is already tight up top and doesn't need any help there!

When I had the CCV by far the best combo for speak was 2 H30's and 2 CL80's in StoneAge 4X12B
That was head and shoulders above the rest.

As Mark Recomends

I agree... This is a great combo for the CCV... I just like a little darker sound with added punch so in My Cameron Cab there Are 4 CL80's... This was Marks personal cab but he thought it was a too dark... But it was right up my Alley! :D

Snatched the 4 Scumback M75's out of my Mesa cab and put them in the Mills. Now, this works for me big time. By the time I got finished I only had a few minutes to play, but it got my loins quivering

Think I may be really sold on the Scumbacks. Got 4 more H's coming soon, as well as a cab from Jim and another Mills being shipped soon. Shit..........

Went through a few preamp tube combinations last night to find what best suits me, then some new settings to get dialed in. I stayed with the Chinese 9's for the most part, but put a Sovtek LPS in V1. The Chinese in V1 was a little too grainy, especially after getting the Scumbacks in the Mills cab. Here's where I ended up:

V1: Sovtek LPS
V2: Ruby 12AX7 HG+
V3: Ruby 12AX7HG+
V4: Ruby 12AX7 AC5
V5: Ruby 12AX7 AC5 (Matched & Balanced Triodes for the PI)

Power tubes same: SED Winged C's, biased at 46mA

You can see the settings in the pic below. Just add more volume!
