They've always been a little overdone on the Skolnicks.

I dig them on vintage style guitars (or a Les Paul custom) but they look off to me when it’s a more modern guitar

I'm kinda surprised it comes with a JB. I thought he'd been working with Seymour Duncan on a signature model, and went through several current models testing.

I have a hardtail AS-1. Great guitar! A bit on the heavy side with a 50's type neck but I like that. Jumbo frets too.

Not in a million years tbh. Prices have gotten insane, in guessing they're extra due to being a sig? Idk I'm out of the loop, even when they were 1100 that was too much for the quality.
