Are there any reliable guitar repair and setup businesses near Summit and Stark counties that can inspect all electronics and hardware, repair as needed, and perform pickup changes? I'm also searching for a tube guitar amp repair company to look at my vintage Marshall Artist 3203 head since the volume keeps cutting out and it's not performing at its best. Thank you in advance!

Stick a short patch cable from fx loop send to the return. Common issue with those amps.

Last time it was repaired around 2014, the guy that fixed it said that there were several problems but there was a burned driver tube socket had to be replaced.

Now when I first take the amp off standby after warming up for a couple minutes then playing through it, the gain drops significantly on the distortion channel and on the clean channel it's all brittle and distorted sounding with the clean channel volume really low? I even tried twisting all the knobs back and forth a bunch of times and nothing, no change? I was tried running a patch cable in and out of the effects loop and same thing happens...

Has the amp set unused for awhile? Usually those fx loop jacks act up, sounds like something else this time. Might try reseating the power and PI tubes. Could be corrosion at the tube pins.
Just thinking of easy stuff to try first.

Yes it has been sitting unused for a while 😕 I'll try what you said and see what happens

Try cleaning the sockets, jacks and pots. Sometimes there are connectors jumping from board to board that can also have some corrosion. Not sure if that one does. Been a long time.

I had Lay's do a fret level on my #1 LP a day or two before the lockdown. It was 10 years old and had some pretty big divots in the cowboy chord area. Completed while I waited and did play very well when it was done. The issue I had was that too much fret material needed to be removed due to the wear on frets 1 through 5 and it became a fretless wonder. Had jumbo SS frets installed by another guy in Dayton, Ohio.

Amps are another thing though. I had a warranty repair done on a Marshall at Beamish Electronics in Cleveland probably 5 or so years ago and they did good work. The store was stacked from floor to ceiling with amps waiting to be repaired so don't expect a quick turnaround. I am not familiar with any other good amp techs in town but I am sure that they exist.

I would call 1st if I were the Op
They are a guitar repair shop. A good one I might add. A chance they could refer him to an amp guy who knows
I think they have an amp tech too..

I used them for years before moving to Florida. They're good. They do alot of refrets, Les Paul restorations, fretwork, everything. Been around forever, and top notch.

Custom Audio Mutation in Akron.

He (Curran Murphy) did a PPIMV on my 1987x. He also does setups, pickups replacement, etc. Great work, cool dude.
