so I've had my mod50 for awhile now, and there's only one thing that irks me. The fact that you need a midi controller to change channels. But, thats also a great feature which I will use someday.

I'm in the process of re-working a pedalboard rig before the new baby & house come. here's a run down of the gear:

RMC Wizard wah
Boss Tu-2
BYOC 5-knob comp
1977 MXR Script Phaser
BYOC Tremolo
TC Nova Delay (in the loop)

I plan on building a BYOC chorus sometime soon (hopefully), and run it after the compressor.

I'm in love with the t/d module, it just smokes. And the EG5 for dirty tones sounds killer. I can't get the gain over 11 on the eg5, its just too much for me ;) The mod50 is running into a Mesa 4x12 cab.

I've done the rack thing for long enough, and decided to go with a clean, functional pedalboard for this rig, and I couldn't be happier.

thanks Jeff / Bruce & everyone @ Egnater for such a killer amp.

You can buy the Egnater footswitch. Yes, it hooks up via a 7 pin MIDI cable, but it's still a standard footswitch.

I have the Mod 50 with reverb, TD and SL2 modules and am running through a Stone Age 2x12C with Celestion Heritage 65's and I must say it is the best rig I have ever had. I use the Egnater 4 button footswitch and get quick and silent channel switching. I use a MKS pedal board with some high end pedals, except for the MXR phase 90 which is my favorite phaser. Someday I will try to mod that pedal so it is true bypass

I think the midi switching is in place to make the channel switching smooth. I notice on all multi channel amps ( more than 2 channels ) the manufacturer uses midi switching. I would guess that there are problems with using the older switching technology on 3+ channel amps.

Please correct me if I am wrong

Not trying to be a smart @ss but you can change the channels without a fotswitch by pushing the button on the front pannel. But yes for hands free you need the Egnater footswitch or a midi-pedal. It's not that big a deal really is it?
