Signal chain as follows.

Guitar
Lehle P-Split
Line 6 Filter Pro
Line6 Mod Pro
Randall RM4 Egnater M4
Rivera TBR-5
Sunn Model T Reissue 4x12 (16 Ohms Parallel)

Outputs of P-Split to the Line 6 Filter and M4 respectively. Outs of M4 and RM4 to A and B inputs of the TBR. Outs from each of the channels on the TBR to each jack of the Sunn.

It definitely sounds interesting. Once the volumes are dialed in properly (which took forever) I get some pretty interesting tones. It gets pretty out there running EG5 and Treadplate with the Filter Pro running 100% wet on the Oberheim. I need a few more days with it but it's getting there.

I'm planning on doing something rather similar w/ my rig. After playing with the AxeFX a lot over the past couple weeks, I have decided not to keep it. I personally feel the Lexicon MPXG2 with a couple other rack units will do everything I want / need.

So...I'm going to have a similar rig ;)

Guitar -> pedalboard -> Lexicon MPXG2 gtr in

Lexicon Preamp out -> Egnater M4 input

M4 output -> ISP Decimator Pro G -> CAE Line Mixer In

CAE Line Mixer Mix 1 Out -> Line 6 Filter Pro (stereo) -> Line 6 Mod Pro (stereo) -> CAE Line Mixer Mix 1 In

CAE Line Mixer Mix 1 Main out -> CAE Line Mixer Mix 2 In

CAE Line Mixer Mix 2 Out -> MPXG2 Preamp return (stereo) -> MPXG2 Main outs -> CAE Line Mixer Mix 2 In

CAE Line Mixer Main out -> VHT 2/90/2

That way I can do parallel effects w/ the MPXG2 in one mix, and the Line 6 gear in another. I'll just setup an instant access button on my Ground Control Pro to turn on / off the bypass of each Line 6 Pro rack gear. Plus programming this will be a lot easier than with the AxeFX. I'll use the Lexicon mainly for tremelos, reverbs, delays, and use the Line6 units for my modulated effects and weird effects. I have a Line 6 mod pedal on my pedal board, that I'm going to ditch and throw a couple other pedals on there (evh phase 90 for sure, and probably some other voodoo labs pedal).

 Funny you should say that. I was contemplating an Axe Standard as I somewhat feel I am reinventing the wheel and taking up more space with this setup. Folks are saying that the Axe is tweaker heaven (or hell :D ). Honestly you have swayed my immediate decision and I will continue messing with this.

I need some time based FX now. Maybe Gmajor2. I could run it Killdry in the parallel loop of the RM4.

As for your line mixer that thing is a serious piece of gear. I am considering an actual mixer as my rack has the flip top. I also have a Korg Triton Rack with 6 outs that is going to be a pain if I don't make it idiot proof.

I'm not dogging on the AxeFX at all man. It's a bAD ASS unit. But for what I was using it for, I was definitely not getting my money's worth out of it. Saying I just picked up both a Mod Pro / Filter Pro for $300 total, I'm definitely going to come out way ahead on price with this. I don't use "that many" effects. Reverb / delays are my staples...with a phaser, univibe, chorus here and there. The reverbs / delays in my MPXG2 are just fine. I know that unit like the back of my hand. I've been programming it for YEARS...and I just could get rid of it.

Yeah this is my dilemma. Factoring in what I paid for the RM4, L6 racks, and modules (+2 more if I decide to go this route) I'm right at cost of a new Axe-Fx Standard. I'm still out time based FX too. I would save 3 spaces and could move the Triton back into the big rack if I go Axe.

I LOVE how this sounds though. I only have Treadplate and Deluxe from the Randall camp and just mixing each of those with BMAN, VX, and EG5 sounds huge. I have a sinking suspicion that I will cave though and order an Axe. How long was your wait or is there one?

I hear you man. For you, maybe the AxeFX would be a good choice based on all of what you are doing. I got my AxeFX from Rob @ Tone Merchants. He happened to have one in stock. So I had only the wait of shipping.
