EDIT:
Updated Version:

I EQ'd the guitars a bit more and added some midrange.

Still needs some more sizzle, at least to my ears. More mids? Add presence? Both :D Just sounds a bit muffled to me.

a question......are you listening through your computer speakers or monitors?

in my monitors it sounds great.......

anyone else?

Wow, that was my fav. the midrange just warmed it up and fattened it. cool...what were the settings, atleast for the midrange?

thanks man.

settings:

Ch1 M3:

Gain 4:00
Volume: 2:00
Treb: 12:00
Mid: 2:00
Bass: 2:30
Presence: 1:00
Deep: 12:00

Ch2:

Gain: 2:00
Vol: 2:00
Treb: 1:30
Mid: 1:30
Bass: 2:00
Presence: 1:00
Deep: 12:00

those are the settings

Hey dude, the 2nd clip sounds lot better than the first, but like someone says it sounds like it could use a bit more "sizzle" on the top end- not sure whether presence or treble works better on the Einie though. I'm listening to the track on shitty laptop speakers and it's sounding pretty good considering you're doing it all on your own (I'm assuming)! If you can get a really raunchy bass tone going it would really thicken the riff up, but I don't know what you have to work with there.

On a side note I'd tame the reverb on the snare a bit, it makes it sound a bit more obvious that it isn't a live take...bass drum sounds great though.

thanks for the comment man, appreciate it!

EZdrummer is a wonderful piece of software, it sound very "live" considering it's software. I actually like the snare, but I'll look into your advice for future clips :)

I have a cheap Ibanez bass, and I've been able to get very good recorded bass lines before (for example listen to the "It's been so long" clip), but honestly, I'm not 100% happy with this one....I had some trouble getting it blend with the guitars....of course, I didn't play with the bass as much as with the guitars, but anyways, I'll work harder on it in the future.

If you can, try listening to the clip with headphones or through monitors, sounds better......but again, who am I kiddin' these days ALL songs/albums must go through the "crappy laptop speakers test" and pass......

I think you need too boost your power amp now 1st, back down some gain 2nd & then add some presence 3rd.

boost the power amp hehehe funny line here :P I can't.....I'd get kick out of my apartment !

I'm thinking about getting an Isolation cab though.

I actually like the way it sounds now.... but I know if I could crank the amp it'd sound Wonderful! Even though I'm VERY happy with how it sounds in the room.

If you are miking at low volume I'd say boost your presence, back down bass & use the deep knob to compensate the bass loss. I hear too much gain in either case, which is why you are loosing definition.

What are your monitors?

Thanks for the advice....I'll try what you suggested (never done it before)

My monitors are M-Audio BX5a
;)

Sounded good thru my M-Audio BX5s just a too much bass. Take the bass down to 10:00 and leave the deep at 12:00 and It'll sound like killer Metal. I don't get the fixation on Bass. :gethim: Let the guitar shine thru like it's supposed to man all that bass is drowning it.

It was cool though.

I have those too and MBox2

Joey, since it happens that I have the very same combination (except my Einy is 100), i.e. Einy & Framus 2 x 12" (+V30) cab
I thought I'd put a scratch of a new song I am working on. If you like the sound I'll post the settings, when I get back home:

Guitar was double tracked. It is a custom made MusicMan JP style with basswood body. Some parts (and the lead) are tracked with a Gibson Les Paul ('57 buckers - those rock man :) ). Miced with Sennheiser e906 through Neve style pre, into RME Multiface (poured in some mixing tricks and thats it)
Here it goes:
Ch 1. - Gain - near 1:00
Channel Volume - 1:00
Treble - near 1:00
Middle - 1:00
Bass - 11:00
Deep - 11:00
Presence - 11:00
Master - 11:00
Ch. 2 (for the lead) - Gain 12:00
Volume - :1:00
Treble - near 1:00
Middle - 10:00
Bass - 10:00
deep and presence same as above
Master - 10:00

That's it :) Rock on. Einy is one of the best amps ever made. Will couple it with Diezel FL cab soon :) Sounds fine to me with V30 - but G.A.S. is strong with me as well :) And I am always looking for some more tonal variance.
