Ok, Re-did the Diezel Herbert Video

I personally like Herbert a LOT better for what you play. Honestly I think it would sound even better if you had passives in your guitars, it sounds a bit too much compressed to me with actives.

yeah for the music I write I certainly don;t use them for the BrOOtalZ :D But I just hate passives. Even the high end ones. I had some high end duncans in a Custom Shop Explorer I snagged of EBAY and the stock Passives in a 1996 brand new Les paul Custom, and they sound ok at first, but over a short time they bug me. I love the punchy fanboy clean of the EMG 60, and the quiet non-fuzzyness of the 81. I am so anal about the tone, that most may not mind it, but when playing OD, I always notice a slight fuzzy sound...like a sizzle and it bugs me. Also the EMg 81 is very quiet when not strummed. Also keep in mind what comes out on the recording is me still getting my live recordings down. Live I have them reall chunky and beefy. But when I record I tend to lower the low's now and I like the bass to handle the low end and so you can hear the bass in my demo's doing different things and like playing in 5th's or whatever, just not the same riff I am playing. But hey to each is own right? ;)

good job ;)

do you plug the chorus straight line or on the parallel loop, Sean?

Hey Chorus and into the front. i have not messed around yet with the FX loop. I am sellingmy 2 boogie cabs and getting one more Diezel rear loaded for the herby.

So far I can't say one is better. Like I love th sparkling cleans of the herbert, but also love th dark deep clean of the VH4. or I love the chug chug on the VH4 and with the right mid cut and ch3 I can get a great but different chug chug.

but the VH4 IMO is more versatile with the 4 channels, and basically 6 FX loops which i like a lot. I haaaaaate pedals and like to midi program every thing and leave a pedal or two on top plug in the channel inserts and set up midi patches on my GC pro when they are on or off. it wont be till I hook up my gCX and GC pro to both and have them both on the GC pro to really flip back and forth, ;) Another great Peter! Thanks!

You gotta get Rudy;s music on 48th street NYC!! he has whole new amp room and stocks what ever brand he carries like crazy. All the rock stars shop there. I told em I would make a vid for him and post it since he has hooked me up some times and is a real real nice guy.

Could be just preference, but sometimes the extreme tightness of active pickups is a little too much for me. Its just too easy to make an active pickup sound really sterile IMO...And yeah, finding a good passive pickup can be really hard, but there are great ones out there that have plenty of character! I'm just not a fan of using actives to push/overdrive an amp harder, it begins to sound a little too compressed. If it were me, I'd try some medium output pickups. That way you have sort of a neutral point of view where the pickup isn't really adding more gain or whatever, which might allow the amp to shine through a lot more! Also, A lot of that fuzzy/sizzling sound can be dialed out w/ the EQ in my opinion, especially since you have great cabs/speakers. Keep posting more vids man!

Yeah I try my best with the advice from BYTE on th ESP boards of never post EQing a track. Just eq the amp how I like it then play and play and play and play some more with mic placement till you found the tone that you like best.

Sean,

thank You very much for Your effort, honestly.

No THANK YOU for making such awesome amps Peter. Keep up the great work man!

AND GET WITH RUDYS IN NYC!!!!!! If he takes Diezel as a dealer, he would stock tons I bet. He does with every other brand!!!

I am planning to bring the Vh4S or the Herbert for a demo to show him, and make a vid of his SICK new amp room! ;)

Hi Scott! One thing. You could lower your gain settings a lot. With EMG 81 on channel 2 there´s enough gain for heaviest metal on 1-2 o´clock and on channel 3 gain at noon or maybe a little more. You get a lot more punch and clarity and still have huge sustain and all the chunk you need. Of course on tube amp gain settings can be bit different when your touch is very light. Try also channels´ level controls on many different settings.

That repainted 250 looks great. The Haunted´s Jensen has similar one. Looks killer

Thanks man, yeah I still have not had enough time to play with her. I have a new song demo, well old demo and new remake with EZdrummer and live guitars not Fruity loops (sux with my drumming on it) and the POD XT. So I might make two versions, one with the Vh4S and one with the herbie. Right now the Vh4S has the dirties laid down. So I might rerecord 2 extra tracks for the herbie.
