Maybe you guys have heard this clip of the Einstein from Rebel Amps, but I've been waiting to hear a metal clip that really sounded good and this is it. The riff itself isn't crazy or anything, but the tone and response is great!
You guys who own/have played Einies, is this rhythm sound available straight from the amp or is a boost needed? Thanks

Nice! Very tight and articulate.

Never played an Einstein, so I can't answer your question for you.

I've played through each of them and the answer is that NO Diezel needs a boost of any kind. What you're hearing is something the amp can do on its own without boost or other assistance

If that's boosted, I prefer it without. The Einstein has more than enough gain to go well beyond that clip already.

Maybe it's just me, but it sounds thin and lifeless to me, maybe it was recorded at bedroom levels... There must be something, maybe some mids boost in front of the amp. The Einstein is a huge sounding amp.

Maybe it's me, but I don't think the Einstein sounds as bad as that clip, even at bedroom levels.

I have an Einstein. No boost necessary in fact my half dozen of TS's and clones went on ebay after buying the Einstein. they all seemed to take away from the amp. With every amp I ever played before owning the Einstein I was using them. I m just dialing the bass down to 1 now to simulate the low end roll off that most overdrives have.

It does sound kind of sterile, but listening through headphones I can just tell that the amp has a killer sound and response. I hear the potential for great recordings. I've been a Mesa user for years now, and the Diezel sound is really exciting to my ears!
Also, I played a VH4 last year and it sounded amazing, but I think I like the Einstein voicing even better.

Another Einstein user that says that it can reach to that sound without any problem by himself. Tight and responsive as hell!!

The Einstein sounds great in any situation! But if you ad some crap mid booster, eq it really bad, ad a bad speaker and a lousy mic and maybe you can sound that bad...

It's one amp I really could not get a bad sound out of. Straight in, no effects and tonal heaven. :)
To me it was a close enough version of a stripped down version of the newer voiced VH4 not to need it for now.
I always reserve the right to have an easier rig depending on the situation. :D

Well....that clip does not sound all that great.
Really.....as pointed out, this is the first amp I've had in a while that doesn't need a boost and sounds great to me in all channels.
