Ola is rocking the Helios 100. Sounds like he is mostly in 70s mode and the gain isn't set super high but this amp is on fire. I am thinking its not stock?

I had one and it is on fire, a really killer amp and will get another one soon, just hated the CH switching on it, but a lovely amp to play

Do you own a Helios?

Set it up at those settings and record it with a 57.

It obv wont sound like ola but the gain level should be obvious.

Amp sounds good. I freaking love Evergrey. From every video I’ve seen, Henrik is a likable guy as well.

Same with Ola, something about is a very likable. ?

Same, evergrey is one of my favorite bands ever

Tom's voice is amazing - he's one of the best singers in metal, easily

When Ola says that amp is custom, I wonder if he’s just talking about the Red tolex. I have a Helios 100 and the video sounds about like a standard Helios to me.

EDIT: ok according to further down the thread, apparently the amp really is modded. Neat.

Proper Bogner.

Steve switched to the Helios 100 after he played 101B’s for a few years. :D

yep. He still has an arsenal of various amps / guitars.
He auctioned some Mesa stuff a while back.
Guitar is about midrange. anything higher or lower tends to get washed out of a mix.

Pretty sure it's modded. The amp in the video was in 70s mode and the gain was at 1 or 2 o'clock. The stock Helios isn't that gained up on those settings.

Helios has an unused triode. Pretty easy to mod it to add another gain stage. A bit oddball for Bogner to release an amp that just completely ignores half a tube while also using diode clipping to get more distortion lol.

That said, the Helios is a great sounding amp.

Look at his mic placement on the cabs?! ?

Pretty sure it’s modded with an extra gain stage.

Yep ok I was mistaken then, that's definitely not stock. The stock one doesn't have a Black Sun mode.

I wonder how tough that extra gain stage mod would be to have done to a Helios. If all you have to trade is the "EQ Off" switch, which I've personally never liked at all anyway, I can't see much reason not to do it.

I could try it on mine.
