is moving right down the street from my house!! Keith Carlock! I have been friends with his dad for years group riding Harley's across the country for summer vacations. Turns out Keith just bought a house down the street from me last month. He also has a million $ apartment in Manhattan but loves Tennessee and wants to make his main residence here. He's converting his basement into a studio. My drummer is also friends with Keiths dad Henry and Henry told Keith that my drummer is in the landscaping business so my trios drummer will be taking care of his house and landscaping while he goes back on tour with Steely Dan over the summer. Keiths a real down to earth and humble guy like his dad. Matter of fact this week, he gave my drummer 3 cases of "Keith Carlock" sticks and several spare drum heads from his sponsor Yamaha. What a guy. I can see us shootin the breeze, cooking out and kicking it around his studio when he gets back in the fall. I'm just stoked. What a treat this is!
Keith may drop by tonight for my bands gig at this local place we play. My drummer says he'll throw him the sticks and his kit, go have a beer and gladly sit in the corner with a huge smile. I hope he can make it tonight. He'll probably make my 30 years of guitar playing feel like I'm playing after my first lesson. But how cool will it be to play publicly with one of the most notorious, talented drummers on the planet? I hope I find out. He's got to fly back out to Manhattan on Sunday to do some studio work, then attend practice sessions for the Steely Dan tour.
