Open Jam TONIGHT (April 1st) in Long Beach, California

Edit: Below is the original post for the last jam session (march 04), details on current one are at the end of the thread.

There's a local watering hole that's trying to get regular jam sessions going again. I just remembered that someone told me they're doing it tonight. Not a lot of places like this around to my knowledge (welcoming, friendly atmosphere with a spread of skill levels) so I figured I'd do my part and spread the word. Hopefully it helps keep it going. The usual crowd and house bands lean jazzy, but tonight a local hard rock outfit is the house band.

Update: they announced last night that the open jam will be a monthly thing. Next jam is April 1st. Clips from last night below.

Some clips of horn players I thought sounded tasty during the jams. Unfortunately I wasn't recording the whole time and only hit the button right after they played something nice, so the below recordings aren't necessarily their best improv.


 
nice to know people are still interested in these kids of things!
 
Monthly jam scheduled for tonight, last I heard. No idea who the house band is.
