Any opinions on the Fender HM strats?
The originals, not reissues.
Specs were 24 frets, H/S/S, Kahler Spyder bridge, coil splitter for bridge humbucker.
I played one back in the day & remember them being pretty cool

the ones from the late 80's early 90's ? I always thought those were cool ..... never played one though

Thanks
Yeah- 25”, which I think is the same as PRS?

I feel like that's right.
But think of the neck pickup placement between that and the 24 frets, though.
If you don't use the neck, no real issue, otherwise it's almost where a middle pickup would normally be from the distance to the nut.

I bought one when they first came out in the 80s.That was a little while back....in like a long while back.Trying to remember it. Iirc,...I wanted to like it but for some reason apparently I didnt as I remember selling it months later.
I didn't have enough mowing money saved up to buy a usa jackson or kramer which is what I really wanted.
I think it was a straight 17" radius neck,D back shape( thick sides on neck),and the trem was definitely not floyd quality. I remember it wouldn't stay in tune.
Now the catch then was I was just too young to realize that a good luthier probably could've got all the bugs worked out with a proper setup.
The new ones look like the old ones but idk if there's any difference or not.
Lesson learned: with a professional setup they might be a decent guitar.

They’re cool but I would pay what they go for now. Proprietary scale length. Okay electronics and okay bridge
