Orange gain baby…

Ade Emsley
He has been designing most of the stuff at Orange for decades.

One of my guitar friends had one of the earlier orange SS heads similar to that. Maybe the pedal baby? I actually was pleasantly surprised at the sound he was getting and I hate solid state and digital gear for the most part.

I never owned anything from Orange my entire guitar-playing life, back to 1985. I always thought they were for boomy, Doom bands. You guys know I've owned tons of amps, both tube and solid state, hybrid and modeller. I love the Orange stuff!

As I've mentioned before, I have a Silver Jubillee Mini head and 5150-III 6L6 50watt Stealth and choose to gig with my Orange Supee Crush 100 combo. I dig it so much I bought a second one! I get such a great tone and nice and loud. The difference between the Orange solid state amps and ones I've played in the past is that they sound warmer and not harsh.

I'm probably going to end up buying a Gain Baby. Would be great to just take a 1x12 and this in a bag.

I would love to check these out. I assume the gain baby would be the best one for me.
Yeah i was going back and forth. At first, I didn't understand the differences between them completely. Now I have more of an understanding:
- Gain Baby, Clean and High Gain Channel
- Dual Gaby, Mid Gain and High Gain Channel
- Tour Baby, Clean and Mid Gain Channel

I think all will provide something for everyone. I agree that the Gain Baby would probably be what I'd use but maybe the Dual Baby.

The man is a legend!
He gets the right balance of vintage and modern. He is more about poweramp overdrive than preamp distortion. But he nails both.

I love the Marshall sound. But the Orange, Vox, Hiwatt sounds are just as important.
Ade Emsley blends all these types of sounds to get what he wants.

Orange is associated with certain sounds. But they can do so much more.

I will be honest-I have been jonesing for an orange. Never played one. Have been interested in the dark terror for awhile and then the super crush seemed really cool too. Now these things come out and I’m definitely interested.

I think most Orange tube amps have a looser, bassier tone from what I've heard. I think that is why Doom bands liked them. The Super Crush is more defined.

Thank goodness, worried this was another Trump thread. :ROFLMAO:
I like a few of the orange amps. They have their own vintage flavor.
All I have right now is a getaway driver preamp/cab sim pedal and a micro terror that's awesome to use for trying out different preamp tubes.
I really want a Rockerverb 100.
