Ordered some KT77's to try in my DSL

Has anyone tried this? Im looking for some more bottom end from the amp and tame some of the fizz on the red channel

Have you tried an eq pedal and different speakers? I've never tried KT77s myself on that amp.
 
They should definitely help with the fizz at least a little bit, but as for adding bottom-end, I am not too sure.
 
what speakers do you use? I've found the stock Marshall 1960 cabs accentuate the fizz to some degree.
