This video is a quick clip of my Splawn Nitro and a rebuild/custom job called the FR-50 that RT member O'Rourke did for me recently. The FR-50 was done with some design assistance from Dave Woodhouse from Baron Amps so we wanted to give him a big shout out and a bigger THANK YOU!!!
Nitro wise, I wanted more gain/saturation, better tone control and more depth control. The resonance knob on the early Nitro amps was a little "odd" so now it functions as a depth control. O'Rourke also cleaned up the clean channel but I don't have a clip of that yet. Really digging the result. The Nitro is played through a Splawn 4x12 with SB/BB's and a Kress 4x12 with Scumback M75/H75 (65 watt versions). ISP Decimator in the loop.
The FR-50 is a single channel 50 watt amp. Currently it has 6550's in it but at the time it had JJ KT88's. It was played through a Splawn 4x12 with MoW/Gov's and a Kress 4x12 with V30/G12T75's.
I was struggling to pick clean for some reason but you at least get the idea.
