yep..

I like it

not as pure sounding as Eggy modular stuff, but cool if you can appreciate a fairly racky sounding preamp.

Thanks. Can you describe what you mean by "racky sounding"? :)

It sounds processed, but not in a bad way. It's "modern", but not brutal.

It sounds WAY better than any run of the mill modeller I've played, but it still ain't gonna sound like a Fender.

What are you trying to do?

I mean, it would fit my style REALLY well.

a mish mash of:

The Smiths
Type O Negative
Cocteau Twins
Deftones
Ratt

Put all of that together, and the Voodu can cover it pretty well!

However, if you're thinking:

Zep
Beatles
Stones
Elvis
BB King
Crapton
etc.

get a normal amp.

Thanks Gene. I would be looking to use it in my live rig along with an RT2/50 - cover band, doing mostly 90s Grunge-type stuff - STP, PJ, Sponge, Nirvana, Soundgarden, etc. Sounds like it might be the ticket for that kind of stuff. Price on the used ones is pretty nice too - $300 or so. I wouldn't be using it for any recording - I am currently using a Digi Eleven Rack and going direct with pretty good results - when I get around to getting an M4 or E2 with some modules, then I'll use that through the RT2/50 for recording too.

Eleven Rack through a good power amp=

Yeah, I am running my 11R through the RT2/50 now. It does sound good, for sure. But, I would like to be able to leave my live rig at the practice space and not tote it back and forth - and the 11R is my recording rig, so I need it at home when I am not rehearsing with the band. That's why I started looking at other preamps.
