OT: FMR audio RNC versus RNLA for bass (compressors)

I have used an FMR audio RNC in the past with my Ampeg SVTIII pro rig. I am now using that compressor for recording, so I am looking at getting another one. I saw that FMR has a leveling amp RNLA as well. Does anyone know what would be better for bass?

Buy them both and tell me. Come on, you can afford it. ;)

I'll tell you what I've heard, though. The RNC was designed to be very transparent sounding. They made the RNLA, because they wanted something that was the opposite, and imparts a particular sound.
 
I figured the RNLA would add more character, but just worried that I won't like the character and than be stuck....
 
I'm going to try and buy a rack tray of each for recording sometime soon, if you haven't bought by then, I'll post back. I don't play bass, but I can at least see what the color's like and make an educated guess.

It will be a while till I get one actually as I am broke. I am using the RNC from my recording setup right now on bass. Struggling with the settings actually on the bass rig. Compressors have always been difficult for me to use, even though I understand the operation. :confused:

I have a dual RNC funk logic rack already, if you get both can you see if the RNLA will fit in the RNC slot. The RNLA only has one button differently labeled, so if that is the only problem its no big deal.

I'm going to try and get the Mid Atlantic trays or what not and fit 3 per rack space like they said should be possible, so, not going with the Funk Logic panels... You could email Mercenary Audio, they carry the FMR products and all the Funk Logic trays so they could tell you off hand if an RNLA should fit into an RNC spot.
 
Both should fit, still not sure which one to get, but its not like I have any money right now to get one....
