This was an awesome show. It was general admission, but we ended up 20 feet from stage right. The crowd was awesome and AIC rocked it big time! Very impressed with the live tone of Jerry's rig. Jerry and William kept making comments about how good the crowd was that night, and I was close enough to the stage to see the smiles on their faces when the crowd was singing the "ooh ooh ooh oooooh" beginning part of Rooster so loud that it was almost louder than Jerry's guitar. They really put on a great show.
Jerry was all over the place - he had a pedal board at each of the three mics at stage front. His main mic was stage left, but for some of the new songs where he sings lead, he switches to the middle mic and William went stage left. A couple of times he and Mike Inez switched places - but Jerry still had a wah setup on Mike's side! Sweet.
Jerry played mostly his original Rampages. He only played LPs on a couple of tunes - mostly the newer ones. Almost all of the Facelift and Dirt material, and some of the new material was on the Rampage. No SG in sight. He played the white "cigarette burned" LP on Your Decision. He played his wine red LP on 2 or 3.
William played rhythm guitar on a good bit of the tunes, even some of the old ones - he played a cherry burst LP almost exclusively.
A guy directly behind me caught one of Sean Kinney's drumsticks at the end - I just missed it with the tip of my fingers. The picks didn't travel far enough for me to grab one.
Sean threw his snare head into the crowd at the end - I think a small fight ensued over that!
Set list consisted of the following. The first 3 are in the correct order - I forgot the order after that.
Rain When I Die
Dam That River
Them Bones
We Die Young
Man in the Box (encore)
It A'int Like That (this one rocked especially hard - one of my favs)
Love Hate Love (YES - I was totally shocked they played this one, and William did an awesome job with the vocal)
Down In a Hole (acoustic)
No Excuses (acoustic)
Black Gives Way to Blue (acoustic - screen displayed pics of Layne while they played)
Rooster (encore)
Angry Chair
Would? (encore)
Again (only one from Tripod they played)
Check My Brain
Last Of My Kind
Your Decision
A Looking In View
Acid Bubble
Lesson Learned (encore)
There were a couple of songs I would like to have heard - like Rotten Apple or Dirt - but I can't complain - it was great.
