I have a Herbert for about a year now.

Ive been thinking to get an Bogner XTC 101B to run together with it, would they compliment each other? or do you guys have advice on other amps to try before i get a xtc.

Im leaning towords the xtc because standing alone it has a great tone.

Im bussy selling my engl se, i love the amp but would like something else again.

I can't say anything about the Bogner XTC Amp.

I've made the experience in studio that british purists like HiWatt works good with Herbert. The song "Redesire" from http://www.myspace.com/ancohead was recorded with Herbert Channel 3 Midcut and a HiWatt 100 Amp.

i must agree with Terry...its the SHIT!!!! Like getting hit in the sack with a jackhammer!!!

also check out Andy Woods video on the forum. He is running the Einstein with the Herbie. Sounds quite tasty!!!

Any non master type English voiced crunch amp. I would recommend a THD Flexi 50 .... because of the dynamics and harmonics.

besides the massive vh-4 herbie combo i REALLY like the pt-100 with it, or a splawn quickrod. the splawn on its own is just pretty ok but it is a GREAT mix amp. seems to fill in frequency not use by "full" sounding low mid based amps like herbie

cheers

Hmm.. haven't tried a Herbert with an XTC, but the other guitarist in my band uses an XTC. Blends very nicely with my Einstein...

I cant get splawn here in the Netherlands. I also heard good things about mixing the herb with a mark 4. Dont have any experience with them. I have the opportunity to trade the se for a uberschall, i just dont know iff its worth it. There is also someone else who would like to trade his VH4 for it, but having two diezels is a bit overkill i guess, its better to have two somehow different amps to get a broader tonal spectrum.

Andy ill google the pt-100, dont know this one. Nice review ont the herb BTW.

Im using the amp with a engl v30 pro cab at the moment. I could get the g-system and the new 4X12 from Diezel but i would like to use the money for a second amp(one that also can be used as backup). It took me along time to save money for these amps. I just rehearse at the moment and dont gig with the band so ill see about the effects and cab later in the future. Im very eager to try the new cab, ill make an appointment with P. Stapfer so i can get to try them all.

i totally forgot about the Splawn...ever since i got rid of mine. Did sound damn good with the Herbie. But the VH4 can do what the Splawn does & more. Best of luck!!
