Other cabs for the Rebel 20?

Hello!

I'm looking for a cab to pair with the Rebel 20 and I'm just wondering what people have thought of cabs other than the 1x12s Egnater has paired the amp with. I'm more of a fan of 2x12s or small 4x12s. I know the Egnater cabs are voiced for the amp though. I tried the matching-look Egnater 2x12 (tourmaster extension cab I think?) and a Traynor 2x12, both sounded pretty good but a little less boomy and with less low end than the rebel's 1x12. I actually kind of liked the tighter feel. I'm wondering if a slightly older Marshall 4x12 might bring out some of those plexi-like tones this thing can produce. By the way, I still can't believe that's only 1 watt when running through a larger cab with the watts knob turned down. It's got some volume!

Live I use an oversized 2x12 with Warehouse BL-80s (like Celestion CL-80s) and at practice I'm using a Madison 4x12 with Warehouse Veteran 30s (like Celestion Vintage 30s) and it sounds great through both. I definitely prefer the 2x12's sound but that's because of the speakers. With the 4x12 I've gotta turn the bass down a smidge but other than that I don't have to change anything. Like I've said in other posts, with these two cabs I've never had to turn my volume up past 8:30 or so. The other guitarist in my band likes the tone out of my Rebel more than a certain high-gain Marshall module that is in his MOD50. I'd say keep experimenting with cabs bigger than 1x12s. All the Egnater stuff sounds great through CL-80s and a CL-80/G12T-75 speaker combo is killer. There are a good number of posts on this forum regarding different speaker combinations, so give it a good search and you're bound to find something that's up your alley.

I run my through a TM 212. I was also thinking of pairing it up with a Recto 1x12. I have a poll somewhere here about it.

I considered an avatar 212 or a used marshall cab. What made the most sense was two egnater 112x cabs. Plug one in for practice at home, two for gigs and rehearsals. Very flexible. Bruce designed the head/cab as a matching set - they sound great together. Bought two 112x cabs for $200 each with sales/discounts.
