Man.......I've already had an Einstein for a couple of years now and recently sold it and got pretty much what I paid for it! Talk about great re-sale value!

Is it wrong for me to be this excited about an amp once again?
Brand new Herbie on route!
I'm stuck at work but thankfully my wife is home.
My 3 Yr old keeps saying "Daddy's new Diezel is coming!"

At least he has been well trained!
:D

It's pretty hard to keep it contained when you know everything you've wanted in an amp is finally coming into play.

Can't wait! I am in the studio this weekend for another film score so can't wait to get noodling with it! I was told to only bring the head so it'll be interesting what they are running it in to. I'm imagining it is either and ISO box or a load that feeds some kind of impulse response software. Who knows. Either way, it's going to slay small and large rodents!

Thx Bud! The only problem is......I don't know if I can use it with my cab. One of my G12K-100s has an issue with the core for some strange reason. It was fluttering really badly. It is under warranty as I just bought it, so I won't have the second speaker until Tuesday.

Oh well.....could be worse.

I've heard V30's are more ideal for the Herbert than K100's. Maybe a good time to try something else out?

Congratz, man. I cute-lol'ed when I read about your three year old. My four year old doesn't pay much attention to musical equipment, even though she's a tom-boy girl. Can't compain, though.

Herbert + V30s FTW!!

Congrats !
I would like to try K100 for our downtuned stuff, should sound great,
but my FL V30 sound pretty massive with my Herbert !

Peace,
Sascha

:D

The funny thing is, he grabs and pick and will actually strum in the right spot.......he loves doing that. Always fun! Hey....I figured, if it is in him to play some day, might as well let him try to have fun now.

Ok....in any case, I can return the K100s I have if they don't work out. I haven't been a V-30 fan in the past. However, if these don't work out, I may try them.

Are V-30s a-ok for a front loaded cab?

I'm not sure how they sound in a FL cab compared to a RL one, tbh. I bet there are others around that know.

I was reading an article the other day stating that the “guitar gene” can easily be passed down to your offspring. It generally goes to the male side. So if you have it there's a strong chance that he'll have it too.

Vintage 30's are a weird speaker if you ask me. They have a really nasally sound that is surprisingly versatile, and is suitable for a lot of different styles of music, probably because it cuts through so well. I think it's best paired with other less abrasive speakers. The tone can balance better that way.

I would have to say your wife is well trained! Mine would size up the sale of a herbie for a coach purse before I got home!

Yah....I guess women need their toys as well.

So....riddle me this Buds.....what if I kept one of the K100s in there and put a V30 in the other side......hmmmm......I wonder what that combination would do on a FL2x12?

I have 30 days to return the K100s.....so in essence, I could get a couple of V30s and be done with it. Tough decisions......

SCUMBACK M75-65wt is all can add, I have VH4 and had a herbie running through a 4x12 with V30xt75 x-pattern but since I put a couple Scumback's in a 2x12 it's game over!

Haven't tried it, but the K100/V30 in an X pattern seems to have some popularity around here. The combo makes sense.
