Please show me it.
How much is the output impedance of M4?
Can the compact pedals such as MXR connect it?
Though I think that it is impossible…

The output impedance of an M4 is about 2K but.....it is not the impedance that is of concern. The output from any preamp is going to be line level (not instrument level). This could very easily overload guitar pedals. I don't recommend you place pedals between the preamp and power amp. Go ahead and try, it won't damage anything but if you find there is a noticeable loss of volume and/or distortion, that is a sure sign you are overloading the pedals and they simply are not appropriate for that application.

Thanks Bruce.

Is it OK to connect t.c.electronic G-Force etc. with preamplifier out?

The g-force can handle line level signals so it should be no problem. Even if you ran a pedal or some device that wasn't line level, you wouldn't be damaging anything, it'd just sound bad and distort in an ugly way.

Hmm. I have a DD-20 between the M4 and VHT and it sounds OK. I guess it can take a line level signal?

I don't know about the dd-20, but even some effects that are labeled as instrument level (so not line level) still can handle some post preamp signals. If it's working for you, then by all means rock it.

The DD-20 is switchable between Instrument and Line Level. Im using one currently and it works fine in the loop of my MOD50.

So it must be an internal menu item correct? I don't recall an external switch of any kind.

I seem to recall this being an internal menu yes.

Yup, just hold down the left pedal while you are powering up. Then use the the Select button to scroll through the options and the Write button to save. Output 3 is the +4db setting.
