For those that have a se+ and use the loop, where do you have the master level ( located on the back) and where do you keep the pre amp volume? ( on the front) It seems that if if you crank the front pre amp volume and control the overall volume in the back that amp tends to saturate more. I really like the amp but it seems that I am having a problem achieving tha gain levelS I have heard in some sound clips.

I think most amps sound like they have more gain recorded than what they do in the person. THis is even more true when you are talking about Marshall flavored amps with healthy mids. Now onto your question. I dont have the OD100SE+, but I have a Suhr Modded Marshall with the SE+ lead channel with whomp and tube buffered loop. I tend to keep the loop level at about 7 because that seems to match my effects level wet vs bypassed. Are you running anything in the loop? This amp loves effects and a little bit of delay or reverb to my ears make the amp seem a little more saturated or softer if that makes sense.

Yea I have a little delay and chorus in the loop. The amp sounds good, I just think I may be missing something in order for that amp to have more saturation.

Try turning your mids down a bit and turning up the presence especially when engaging the whomp
At Lower volumes the return level is buffered better than a typical master so I would run the front level no lower than 3 or 4
Then if you want to dump volume use the loop master.

What pickups and speakers?

Hi John, thank you for responding. I use mainly mid to high output seymour duncans, custom custom, jb and 59's. My cab is a stock Marshall 1960 lead with the 75 watt celestions which I know are not trhe best for the od-100. I could get some great saturation by diming the return master and adjusting the front level to the volume I needed. Just not sure if this is the proper set up

I'm waiting on my od 50 . My main amp now is a splawn QR . Its an extremely loud 100 watt head . I use the loop master trick on it . The way I do it on mine is crank the front volumes to about 4 and throttle it down with the loop volume and it gets major saturation that way .
I don't know about the suhrs but my QR saturates more with the boost engaged also.

On ch2 I run the front volume at 4, gain around 7.
Bass=5
Mids=4-5
Treble=5-6
Presence=9-10
Whomp=Full
Rear Feedback=0-3 depending on the room

The FX return level is my Master Volume, when I'm gigging it typically sits between 4-5 which is really LOUD. I keep the same settings for bedroom levels and just turn the FX master way down....it keeps the tone happening fairly good.
