Jeff,

You said you turned an EG 3/4 into a Bogner Brown Channel, right?

I know you said you weren't impressed.

Do you remember what the modifications were?

Would it be possible to do this to a Randall XTC module I have sitting around?

EDIT: Hmm, maybe It wasn't the brown channel. I see like four gain stages and a cathode follower. I guess there wouldn't be five triode stages to work with in an module???

Are you referring to the Brown channel on the FISH preamp? As cool as that can sound, I would like a module to do the Blue channel of the Ecstacy better.

No but I can make the XTC way cool!

What can you do to a XTC Jeff? Can you do the Blue channel? I've been wondering if you or Bruce or another Egnater fellow would do a custom module for me ... something like:

Channel A Blue channel
Channel B Blue channel with boost on.

Would this be possible?

Can't really do it with the dual channel modules. I have done stuff on the Randall XTC. Let me take a look at the SL and see if I can do what your looking for. I do have a Red Dual channel I did which is the red channel on both I believe.

Cool deal. How did the Red Dual Channel module come out? If you could make a Blue Dual Channel out of a SL that would be my dream module!!!

What can be done with a Randall XTC module?

I bet the Blue Channel of the Ecstacy sounds similar to the B Channel of the SL. Both are very open, woody, vintage, plexi-ish.

A dual "B" channel'd SL would be very cool, with slightly more push on the 2nd channel.

I haven't played the SL module from Egnater, but the Bogner Blue channel with the gain all the way up and the boost on are my favorite heavy tones I've ever played. So organic, woody, and rich ... and still has a lot of gain too.

Yeah, that would be very nice...
