I'm just curious what you use to output the Axetrak to?
I am using a cheap behringer mixer, and although it sounds great, I am wondering if a better mixer would make a difference (or some other device).

And I will say it again, the Axetrak is one of my best gear purchases ever

Sup!!

I use the axetrak directly into my E-mu 1820 sound card. The E-Mu comes with built in Mic pres and it cuts out the need for a mixer! Congrats on the axetrak! I love that sucker!!!

My EMU doesn't have that option

It all depends on the mic pres in the mixer and the signal to noise ratio of the mixer. If you bought a mixer that has better mic pre's and has better specs then yes, it will make a difference. That said, another route you could take is to keep the mixer and invest in a mic preamp. Lots of options!! The easiest for me was just to get a soundcard that had them built in!
