Hi there, I use the palmer pdi-03 all the time and im pleased with it. I was using it with my vh4 and never had any issues. Here's a vid on youtube and im using a palmer going direct but its through a mesa head. anyways Maybe it will be of some help

What will you use the palmer for?

Using it in a live situation with a band and going through the pa, is something i dont have experiance with, i used it only for home recording.

So, I was going thru lots of digital stuff like AXE-FX, Line6, Vox, Boss, Guitar Rig etc. playing weddings and parties at small locations. But nothings comes close to a real tube amp. It's not because it doesn't sounds good, it's about having a good tone under the fingers. This is why I will use my Einstein playing directly in the PA and listen over the floor monitors. For bigger jobs I will take the 4x12 as usual. And because weddings are good paid, I will have a good feeling :-)

That's the story! Chris

Trock? - Trock what?

You won't have the same dynamics running through a speaker sim then you would, say, playing through your cab. So no, don't expect your speaker filter to still feel and react the same.

I have had the palmer 03, and tested it with the 04. I liked the options of the 04 much better, but still, for most applications, the 03 just sounded better to me. 04 was a bit more rounder and lacked the bite.

Still the 03 is a bit too filtered, and does not compare to a mic'd cab. You don't have that air and dimension you get with pushing a speaker, in a REAL room

it does however play well with a mic'd cab

There is another speaker sim box, that uses Digital IR's, can't remember the name, torpedo or something, but its expensive, but I would say much more well rounded then the palmer, or other analog speaker sims.
