Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone uses a Palmer Speaker Simulator rack with their VH4 or any other model. I was gonna build an ISO cab to record at home but saw this rack and thought it might be better for me since I live in an apartment.

If you have a video of you jamming with the Palmer I would really appreciate it since I would really like to know how it sounds with the Diezel.

Cheers

Mark

Hello,

I'm using a Palmer PGA-04 with my Herbert and Hagen...since I've got children running in the house ;-)

Difficult to say how it sounds with a Diezel...because it's really versaltile and the sound also depends of the rest of the signal chain (room acoustics, audio monitors...).

All I can say is that I'm happy with it.

Recently, I've tried the Torpedo stuff but I haven't been able to be pleased. Maybe I'm too used to the Palmer (as I'm too used to the Diezel sound). I just stick to the Palmer and add cab sim in cubase (redwirez or Two Notes).

Hey Docben,

Thanks for the advice. I just picked up the Redwirez and talk about big selection for cabs!

If its not too much to ask, is there any way you would be able to take a vid of you using the Palmer with the Herbert with heavy distortion? And without the Redwirez too to hear what those 2 sound like together?

OMG ! A vid !

Maybe I could...but I'm a too bad player to dare post a vid of me ! :aww:

The problem of a vid is that the sound is coloured by the mic of the camera and the acoustic of the room (which is bad in my case because my room is not treated).

The Palmer has 2 voicing knobs that let you shape the sound, plus it has a "brown"/"lite" switch that gives you 2 different flavors.
So there are a lot of possibilities !!!!

I could send you a .wav file recorded from cubase...but you'll only get "my" settings (and I haven't explore all the cab sim possibilities yet).

For now, my playing sound with the Hagen is near the one heard on the last Enslaved album.

Where are you from ? Europe ?
