Didnt spend too much time with these obviously as I left fuckups in there and I didnt double track or record the whole song yet. Just another TONE TEST to see if I am getting closer to that "Far Beyond Driven" tone yet.

Two clips this time with backing tracks. First clip is with the gain 1/2 way up, second clip is with the gain 3/4 way up. Let me know what you guys think, or which clip sounds closer to the actual song's tone.

It doenst really have any sustain without a boost of some sort, I tried boosting it with a bad monkey too, it sounded a little fatter but not nearly as tight as a tubescreamer. Of course it has more bass without the tubescreamer too, but I really wasnt using much of the amps bass, it has powerball overkill amounts of bass.

Thanks for taking a listen

Do a clip w/o the boost. Maybe lay off the presence a bit. Maybe try a different mic'ing technique too. Seems way way too fizzly. Also bear in mind Dime was using those bill lawrence pickups with sound really glassy. I've found the 500T to sound really harsh and spikey.

Way off, dude. There's something similar in there, but it's just messy sounding.

If you want that FBD sound pick yourself up a Century 200, a furman pq4 and a mxr 6 band. Both EQ's up front, mxr with alot of mids, PQ3 to add more body/chunk to the tone. Plus a guitar with a Bill Lawrence L-500XL. That's a very key ingredient, a very biting pickup. I bet you already know this though, right? So why are you chasing that tone with all the wrong gear?

Honestly, you need to work on your chops/timing a bit. The playing is way off on this.
