Anyone have experience with these ? Good quality axe ?

I enjoyed the hell out of the one that I played but that was awhile ago...

The neck through ones are real nice.. I thought they played pretty dam good..
Only complaint I didnt like that Kahler tremolo on it..
And the other Negative was all of the music shops that had them only had them in Pink instead of black..

I got one Brand new when they 1st came out in the late 80's......
Financed it thru the local music store.
they are great axes. Had the Puzzle piece one....the Purple quilt one...
Great guitars!! Snag one if you get a deal on one.

I played a blue neck-thru model with a ebony board that was suprisingly good. It felt solid as a rock.

I had the puzzle as well. great guitar, but the neck was way too thin for me. But the quality was very nice.

I picked up my Puzzle for $750 on ebay and the Purple quilt for $800 .....

both on Ebay .........both back in the 90's!

Today they go for double that!

These are now called the Peavey V-Type right?
Yeah....But not sure how they compare.
Never played the new ones.

The new ones are OK. I had one. They're more low- midrange priced instruments though.

The new ones play really well. I've been consulting with a place down in San Diego that has a shitload of new and old Peavey stuff and he has 3 or 4 bolt on, Floyded V-Types, 1 neck through V-type, and a custom shop Vandenburg; flat black, hum/single, and "trucker girl" inlays on the 12th fret only. I may grab one the the bolt ons in the near future.

I actually have one of the bolt on V-Types I am going to get rid of.

I thought it was a pretty good guitar for being a mid priced (~$500ish when first introduced) import. I have had it for years but hardly play it.

If you like the oddball specs, then I think it is a solid guitar...
