Though you all may be interested in this,

My Vypyr had been converted to a head before, but that go around I somewhat half-assed the housing. Structurally it was fine but instead of covering it I sprayed it with textured paint. I left it that way for a while but never liked it. The housing aesthetically looked too tall and the paint was ugly. I swapped it back to a combo and had it that way for another little bit.
Recently I rearranged my setup to flow better with the amp switcher I just got. I decided I wanted to make the Vypyr back into a head. This go around I did it proper. Covering was ordered online, the piping & roping & got from Hobby Lobby, and the rest of the hardware came off the combo. I used gold metallic spray paint on the corner protectors & Peavey badge to match the rest of the trim and freshen them up a bit. I f-ed up freshening the black on the badge but in a good way. I planned for it to be a smooth coat. It ended up coming out bumpy and in my attempt to fix it started looking like cast metal so I went with it.
For the jack I didn't want to drill into the chassis so I created a back piece to mount it to. I'll have to swap out the back, bottom corner protectors since the ones on the combo didn't quite fit right, but it will do for now.

Sick!

I love it. Will you do that to mine

Can't find a pic right now but I have one too. Cool tones (especially considering I bought mine used in 2021 for about $300).

Can I ask a question though? I don't understand the jack on the back thing? I never would have noticed the rear bottom corners if you had not said anything. I want mine to look just like your :D

Edit: here is mine. booooooring

That is the main output jack. The wires (blue & yellow on mine) that were connected to the speaker are now connected to that regular mono jack. Use that jack first when connecting a speaker cab. The output jack on the chassis is still there if you want to connect a second cab.

I opted to mount the main out the way I did because I wasn't going to remove the circuit board just to drill a hole. There's enough room to drill it without having to remove anything, but I felt doing that was a bit too risky for my taste. Between accidentally nicking something if the bit slipped, high voltage capacitors that weren't discharged, and possibility metal shavings may get stuck and cause a short I didn't want to take any chances. How I did it was safer and easier.

I remember the B-Kat setting actually not sounding bad for a Bad Cat. The 6505 setting is also good because it's Peavey.

Do yours still do the disco lights when not in use?

Yup, I still get the light show.
I played it for the first time in a while yesterday evening. Sounds great playing through a 4x12. The modeled amps aren't a perfect 1:1 compared with the originals, but definitely captures their spirit and all sound good in their own right. To me they sound like if Marshall, Mesa, etc. released a slightly different flavor of one of their amps. My favorite thing about the Vypyr is the power tubes and naturally responds as a tube amp would. No hassle of having to dive deep into settings to emulate the tube feel like on other modelers. Kind of wish peavey would release an updated Vypyr Tube

Peavey had a good run with the Vypry series but sort of got wiped out by the Boss Katana overnight. I thought modelers would have done it but no it was that combo, IMO.

That tolex covering job is very, very, very good

It's alot more difficult than people think to make the covering look that crisp, and the edges that fine.

Oh yeah. Makes sense now.
Yeah - I feel they could have improved the Vypyr Tube 60 to make it even better.
I like the Recto setting the most.
Mine sits in the fireplace so sometimes when I run it with one of my other amps - it has this cool subwoofer effect.
