Peavey XXL volume problem

I have an XXL head, and when I'm playing it, every 5 mins or so it will suddenly get real loud for about 3 seconds, then go back to normal. Anyone ever heard of this? I can't seem to access the peavey forums, and a google search keeps bringing up a different common volume issue (volume drops suddenly). Anyway, any advice or experiences would be appreciated.
 
Can't access The Peavey forums? That board can be a little inconsistant when trying to log on.

The forum is actually called the Peavey Support Forum. Maybe try that. Lots of Peavey knowledge over there.

After I registered it said it would send me a confirmation email with my temporary password. Well i registered last night and still haven't gotten the email. I tried again with another email address, and still no email.
 
It'll take a day or three for them to respond with your access.
