Pedal not working. Help please!

Hey guys got a Distortion pedal that turns on but no sound when engaged. It’s true bypass so sound comes through when off but when I turn on, the led comes on but zero sound. Any ideas what it could be?
 
Could be anything. Cables, bad soldering, blown fets, bad switch, loose connectors, bad caps, bad power supply, etc.
 
knowing the pedal would help .... so we could look at a schematic .... if there's one for it
 
I have hooked up my zuul backwards before because i got the cables coming from loop backwards. That will do it
 
i have a Bad Monkey, does the same... of course knowing what i just did to another pedal of mine... i sort of suspect the same happened with the BM. 🤦‍♂️
 
Try putting contact cleaner or deoxit on a cable end and run it in/out each Jack many times. Might just be dirty jacks. Happened to me before
 
Never hurts to pop it open and look. I had an EHX Bassballs pedal that constantly cut out on me. When I finally took it out and looked, it was a missing solder joint on the switch board. Sometimes just touching up the solder joints can bring it to life.

Plus, if there is a bad component, you can spot it. Look for bulging caps or burnt resistors. Could be a wire loose somewhere. Never hurts to look.
