I have a Engl midi pedal. I connected it to the Herberts midi in and nothing happend. It is a phantom powerd midi board.

On channel 2 when switching from + to - it takes a vew seconds before the tone changes, is this normal?

Im verry happy with the amp and its tone, everyday i find more tones.

The Engl midiboards and Diezel amps have a different pin assignment for phantom power. You need to either use a ac adapter for the pedal or modify the cable, amp or board.

I have a Z-12 myself that the previous owner modified to work with the VH4. Have a look in the manuals of the Herbert and Z-1x to find out which pins have to be changed.

Since we´re talking about the ENGL footswitch, I´m considering buying one for my Herbert. How is it working out for you guys? If I run the board with the ac adaptor do I have to modify anything or is it good to go?

No problem with this. It's just the phantom power pin assignment with is not same.

But modifying isn't a big deal if you want to do it on the cable. Just buy a midi cable that has jacks you can open and resolder the connections. Done in 15min and both the board and amp can stay untouched and you don't need an adapter.

I checked the manual on the internet (didn't get it in he box) but theres nothing about the cable in it. Do you guys gave that for me? And do you know about the + - switching?

Thanks as soon as i have time ill try to macguyver the cable ;)

My Herbert switches tone instantly from - to +. Takes maybe 1/2 second when switching from + to -.

Yes thats it. Its the same here but not a half second but ok, i can live with it, i dont see myself walking to the amp during a song and switch.
