I have no experience, they should send me samples ;)

Yea. They should.

I had a test run with Retrovalves on my VH4 and Herbert.
Results really impressed me and Retrovalves made my VH4 and Herbert sound more articulate, tighter, slight less compress feeling and about 10% more in gain.
Those solidstate tubes are very quiet as well, about 80% less in noise and microphonics than traditional glass tubes.
Unfortunately, I had some tiny issues when running them as V1, tube buffer or phase inverter.

I believe the new Diezel Zerrer pedal will impress us too just like those solidstate tubes.

Seriously, keep an open mind. Some great solid state amps out there, I don't see why solid state tubes couldn't be just as awesome. Imho, it's the transformers and circuit designs that make Diezels (and other tube amps) awesome!

I would also be really interested in trying these just for the sake of curiousity. I understand why these are developed and Im sure they have their applications and potentially some tonal characteristics that some people like over traditional tubes, but in all honesty, the name should not have anything 'TUBE' in it. It sounds a bit like 'manboobs' or 'shemale', a hybrid of two things that should not exist. Solid state amps and other equipment can be really nice sounding, but I have not yet come accross any unit that has the same touch sensitivity and dynamics of a good tube amp when you use the overdrive/distortion channels and roll-off some volume from your guitar.

Whoa, simmer down, Chief.

Firstly, I wasn't being closed-minded about it - I was just making a joke at the expense of cork sniffers.

Secondly, I've tried every new gimmick that's come along and they never add up, so I would approach this, like any other "amazing new technology" with caution.

And while every component in an amp, including the transformers, makes a difference, the tubes do as well. Swap the first preamp tube in an amp and see how drastically your tone changes by just changing brands of the same type of real tube.

The issue I see with something like this is what tube does it sound like? "It sounds like a 12AX7" is like saying that your new Ferrari "handles like a car". It's words, but it doesn't really mean anything.

I checked the links you provided and viewed some of the clips. I think they really have something with these things. I will not buy four of them like one of the sites states but if one or two popped up around here? I would try them. With that said.....I love the way my 4 sounds as is.

Right.

Turn a analogue guitar amplifier into a solid state "tube amplifier".

By any chance is crack cocaine and massive quantities of Jack Daniels involved here?

Why not hit up HP's web site and get some 4TB SSD drives and replace your guitar's pickups with them?

Maybe you'll reach 3,000,000 IOPS.

HELLO!
