What's your suggested bias for the E34L's, I didn't care for them as much as the SED's last time but maybe I just didn't have a the bias at a good spot.

SED's := :thumbsdown: in Herbert.

As an example:
(25 watts for 6L6’s, EL34’s, E34L’s or KT77’s or for 6V6’s use 14 watts and for KT88’s use 35 watts)

Formula for biasing the plate dissipation:

You measure the DC plate voltage from pin #3.

Herbert's plate voltage = 480, JJE34L = 25 watts, run at 70% leaving 30% headroom.
25 divided by 480pv = .0520 or (52 mA x 0.7) = .036 or 36mA (72mA for the set)

Herbert's plate voltage = 480, JJE34L = 25 watts, run at 85% leaving 15% headroom.
25 divided by 480pv = .0520 or (52 mA x 0.85) = .044 or 44mA (88mA for the set)

I run my sets of EL34s in Herbert at ~75mA and they feel and sound great to my ears. :thumbsup:

Depending on Your choice 25 to 35 millamps each tube.
Please double it for the adjustment on the Herbert.
