he gets dumped like that?
http://www.marshallamps.com/resources/n ... s_news.asp

In an interview Satriani says he wants the best tone with Chickenfoot and therefor wants to play the Marshall JVM instead of his Peavey JSX signature head. If i was responsible for the deal with Satriani at Peavey i would not be exactly superhappy. In addition another guy lately stated that he tuned all of Satrianis Peaveys amps. I thought Satriani played them right out of the box ;).
Hmmmmmmmmm..... Ok maybe he stays with Peavey but obviously he gets a better sound out of the JVM than his 2 different signature heads...

He should use a VH4 and don't give a shit about any endorsement :D

That`s almost what i thought. If it wasn`t for the cash he gets from Marshall he would choose an Einstein :gethim:

he may be a playing genius...but his tone over the past few years has been utter crap..and thats being nice. Imagine if he played a VH4....wow!! That would be something!!!

Yes, life goes on but I feel sad for Peavey. It´s a great
company and take much effort for the artists.

We don´t have endorsements in a common way but got
disappointed by some tour support. Amps came back
damaged after a long search where they are. Some people
give a s... on the amps after they get supported.
For example we got a VH4 back from Italy without a case.
The amp was completely damaged and full of water.

I think the only way these people work is: "After me the deluge".
That is not the way you should tread other people!! :gethim:
Especially the guys form Diezel!!

I think that's pretty rude of people abusing your company's caring nature. I'd be tempted to say 'I can't help you until you help yourself' - get a flightcase. That quote's applicable to most things though...

I think he´s more the guy for Herbert. Vai would be VH4.
Could be. I'm not familiar with either of them.

People that are given the privlege of being allowed to borrow amps from a company and then not give a damn how this property, which belongs to another, is treated have no class!

They should be charged for the damage they inflict, or allowed to happen, without regard for the gear.

Peter, if you want to send me some amps for the road, i will return them in great shape ;)

Sorry for you Peter. We live in a quite cynical world and i guess music business as the whole entertainment business is no exception. That doesn`t excuse anything but i guess it`s not more difficult to find some shitheads in that genre than anywhere else!
But music is essentially about feelings and not business and when i sense that the guy behind the music is an arrogant cynical businessman i get my doubts and that makes me not wanna buy his music anymore.
As what i read did Satriani state that he and Peavey have an agreement that allows him to use any amp he wants. Peavey launched the new JSX 50 Watt head for just a few month ago and Satriani talked a lot about how phenomenal that amp was in every aspect, which he by the way also did about the 120 Watt head, the mini colossal, the Satchurator, his Wah pedal and so on.... My point is that i read that Peavey got caught in the middle by the following statement : "I'm just looking to achieve the best guitar sound every moment I'm plugged in and that brought me back to Marshall Amps."
This sentence is like bashing on his signature amps. Who wants to buy his amp which are by the way a lot more expensive (at least in Euope) than the JVM after that statement anymore? I wouldn`t. The JVM is the biggest competitor (i now you will disagree and you are right the JSX/JVM are no match to the Diezels- but the Diezels i woul guess are more of insider amps/ meaning not as known as the other brands)to the JSX and Satriani says loud and clear- buy the JVM.
Ok now you could say you don`t know what happened back the curtains. But that i would guess is not a good argument. If he disagreed badly with Peavey on somthing he should have finished the partnership and maybe then went over to Marshall. But first praising his amps and then going out with that statement is not just unfair to Peavey but also his fans... i would guess  . Maybe i am wrong but the whole thing stinks if you ask me.

Personally, I find it ridiculous to buy an amp primarily based off of what another guitarist uses.

Have to disagree on that. If you like the tone of the artist and are after exactly the same tone then why not? Its just getting unfair when the guy praising the signature amp actually just advertises for it and uses highly modified versions of that amp which eventually never gives the tone you are expected to get.

I can see that, I just think it'd be wierd if someone bought a JSX, and since Satch is back using Marshalls now, they dump the JSX for a Marshall...JUST because he did it.

Yep that wouldn`t make sense, agreed.

The saddest truth about endorsement and advertising and marketing and so forth is that it preys on one's sense of inadequacy and/or identifiable image (or potential lack thereof). Although I too am one to say "screw what [he's] using, I'm my own person", I'd be lying if I didn't say I was always curious about what my fave musicians are playing on... It's just the nature of the beast. However, I'm also very "awake" and realize that buying something won't make me play like [that] person, or even sound like [that] person. It just so happens I really love Tool (amongst many others), and always thought them to be a terrific sounding musical entity. It was my curiosity that led me to Diezel knowing that Adam Jones plays through them, but I wasn't interested only because "he" played them - I did my research, checked out sound clips, demo'd a couple, watched for QC issues, read owner feedback, and then finally, decided YEAH!!! This amp is all that and THEN some - and it sure is. One thing I love about Diezel is that it is NOT mainstream...fact of the matter is, a lot of players try to get their identity by standing in front of a wall of Marshalls, or the like, but a lot of the more renowned Diezel players tend to be people who let their music and skill do the talking.

Artists make a living by their craft (here we go Robert Fripp), and getting money is part of that process, but selling out [in the case of Satch going from Peavey to Marshall overnight] kinda cheapens [his] cred to me. I bought my Diezels because I love their sound - period. After owning them and proudly playing them, I am kinda happy that they're still an industry secret in many ways. We're unique - and you can't make ads selling your uniqueness without looking like a hypocrite. When I have to say "Diezel" twice or three times to people who ask what I play, I love it - Diezel is different, and so am I.

Good Job to all at Diezel, and to Satch, hope the friends you left behind at Peavey are worth it. So it goes. The two things that cause the greatest strife for mankind are manmade...religion and money.

One's own music, however, is free :D
