Fixed it.Petty pricy
You shut your mouth or Pete will stare two separate holes at different angles right through you.Pete Thorn will shill just about anything. Maybe he should create an account on here so we can bust his balls.
He has one. Few og’s always go in on him so he bailed. Carl mainly. At least he’s the one I remember most…pretty epic stuff….Pete Thorn will shill just about anything. Maybe he should create an account on here so we can bust his balls.
Have you compared that Peace Hill to a Van Weelden Royal OD? These things are serious money. I could buy another SF Twin for that, lol. But I'm considering a new main OD this year sometime so I have started to look around. Any input would be great, thanks Braintheory.I haven't tried this latest one, but had 2 based on the 1st and 2nd channel of this new one. I don't remember being too wowed by them. They didn't stay long and I do love my share of high end pedals. If you want a good high end drive pedal I'd say check out the Peace Hill FX ODS and SSS. I have both and they're great, both tube powered and although are just a little more pricy than this pedal also have way better resale value since they're legit
I haven’t tried a Van Weelden, but had many other Dumble inspired pedals and didn’t like them nearly as much. I use these pedals though more as boosts anyway fwiw as my preference. There is a nice 3D quality to Peace Hill’s since they’re tube powered. If you want a pedal more as your main drive source than boost though I honestly would probably go with something elseHave you compared that Peace Hill to a Van Weelden Royal OD? I like 3-D. Any suggestions on other stuff to look at? I was looking at Rockett HRM2's, it sounds pretty nice for the $. For high volume events I just use my Blue Note as a boost with the Twin cranked. For low volume events I turn down the amp down to about 4 and crank the gain on the pedal and set volume at or below unity to keep a lid on the dB's. I'm not even sure if my search here is time well spent or if I should start considering some 2nd amps.I haven’t tried a Van Weelden, but had many other Dumble inspired pedals and didn’t like them nearly as much. If I were you I’d probably look for another amp instead for the drive sounds, but also looking for boosts for what I think you’re looking for I’d try to get a good Klon type. I’m lucky to have an original silver Klon and all these years it’s still been almost all I’ve ended up actually using out of the almost 200 boost type pedals I’ve been through. It’s surprisingly versatile in that it loves almost all my amps besides the ones that just don’t like boosts period and I love it as anything from a subtle boost to maxing its gain to anything in between. The way notes connect and sing on it is very special in a way than even for me a mark iic+ doesn’t get without itI like 3-D. Any suggestions on other stuff to look at? Thanks for all your input Braintheory. I'll look around the next few months and do some thinking on it. Maybe get some feedback from some other players I know. I have a really good tech in my area and thought about having him build me something since he's offered to do so several times. I could go part by part until I have what he needs to do it. I’m picky about pedals and in general really can’t stand most recent made ones. They mostly sound really filtered and plastic-y to me, lacking soul/character, even most of the expensive ones and with a vintage fender like you have that quality of them may come through more obviously. To a smaller degree I still hear some of the less lively/flatter sound in these Peace Hills, but much better than most recent pedal. Thorpy’s pedals have been the most organic sounding imo, but none of them are voiced exactly how I’d like and they tend to be really noisy
