Ok, I feel a bit retarded for asking this, but it's just bugging me. I hear lots of blues guys repeat a similar riff and am wondering how it's achieved. It seems like a simple pull-off riff, but for some reason my retarded brain can't wrap itself around it. About 11-12 seconds in...

I keep thinking it's just a simple hammer on/pull off on the first fret, low E...but something sounds off to me.
