LP EMG 81/81
LP SD 59/JB
LP 57/57
LP 490/498
LP Burstbuckers
Schecter7 SD Jazz/59

My favorites: 490/498, 59/JB

I've just got another Japanese LP that I was planning to sell for profit, but there is no way I'm selling this guitar, it plays like no LP I've ever played. It has burstbuckers in it. I may even keep the neck & change the bridge only. Do not want anything like EMGs or other active pickups, as well as not interested in Bare Knuckles.

Please compare it to at least one of the pickups in my list, otherwise suggestions don't help at all.
I'd be very interested to read some comparisons to Anderson pickups.
I need something roaring in bridge, not thin, but not compressed either.

To have some idea of the style & tone listen to these clips

Hey buddy,

I'm a HUGE fan of Anderson H2+ pickups. Not overly compressed, great harmonics, just all around fantastic pickup.

Never been a Paul guy, so I'll be leaving those pickup combination comparisons out, because they'd be worthless, but for any super-strat, that is hands down my favorite.

Definitely worth a try! Based on your description of what you like, and the music you play, probably a win.

I think it could be a good idea to install an Anderson H2+ in my 7 stringer & maybe Duncan 59 in LP.

The Duncan Custom Custom gets rave reviews around here. My favorite pickup with my Einstein ever though is the Suhr Aldrich. That pickup smokes, has sick harmonics, cleans up surprisingly well, and is just great overall. Definitely recommended.

another vote for anderson pickups, really good product.

peace

Where do I get Anderson for a 7 stringer?

I'd give 'em a call. I think they might have made a few 7 strings. Super nice people.

I have Suhr Aldrich humbuckers in my Les Paul Custom and they sound awesome with my Herbert, plenty of output, warm and also chewy with high gain. A really good set of balanced pickups.

How 'bout Bill Lawrence L500 L, XL :) One of my favourites for output, clarity and dynamics.
I find '57-s worth a second try. They do sound great on my LP Classic.

I own a Herbert and XTC, My fav p/u at currently is a Anderson H2 in a T/A hollow drop Top. More organic and less compressed than the H2+, More open and fatter than the Gibson 490. Well worth checking out.

Standard Gibson 57 PAF's, Harry Haussel pickups from Germany, Lace Dually, and Lace Hemi buckers, Antiguity Duncans. These pickups are very sweet sounding, and will sound better then the standard fare most people have. They accept effects very well in Diezel amps.

I have owned anderson guitars with their pickups and found the guitars to have no soul compared to these other pickups. (Sorry anderson lovers, jmho)

57s I already have, so I don't feel like I need another one.

Which Haeussel pickup do you recommend? What do they sound like?

It´s a matter of taste as usual.

I have Haeussel Classic HU´s with low
output .......... 7 to 8 kohm.

Works great in all of my guitars.

I have custom Harry Haeussel's in my 8-string Blackmachine (Alnico and Ceramic approx 10K). I don't know is it the guitar or the pickups or the combination, but I really wish all of my guitars would sound as amazing as this one sounds.

Also, my band's another guitar player (the ENGL guy) installed two Haeussels in his guitar and he seems to be extremely happy as well. If I recall correctly, neck is 7-string HB-Vintage N and bridge is 7-string HB-Hot.

+1. The Aldrich is definitely worth checking out. Hot & crunchy, but still incredibly dynamic.

I use a Bareknuckle Warpig in the bridge of my C-tuned explorer, it sounds massive with the Herbert
I'll try to record some clips as soon as possible.
