Pickup height and tonal changes with Diezels

What is everyone's expience with different output pickups and their Diezels? I've heard Peter say lower output pups are better, and he doesn't think his amps need a boost. How do they fare with actives? I'm using SH-6's right now, but considering trying some lower output pups.

It’s a matter of preference. I tent to prefer medium-high output passive PU because I like the dynamics and prefer that the Diezel do his job and deliver the gain and compression. I like to use a boost though.

Active PUs sound great too, both EMGs and FF Modern sound great on my Diezel.

I tend to prefer lower output pickups for Diezels. Also have had great results with pretty much any Gibson pickup across the output spectrum. No recent experience with actives, but would like to try EMGs again at some point.

Lundgred m6s with Diezel is bad ass . My go to always with my vh4 and Herbert’s

I gravitate towards PAF-y 7-8kohms stuff (my favourites being Shaws). I don't like the preamp fed with too hot a pickup, so generally those sorts of pickups with a clean boost as and when needed.
