I am getting ready to solder up an HSS pickguard using a Dimarzio AT-1, Cruiser, and Pro Track. The Dimarzio diagram shows the tone cap soldered to the right lug of the tone pot (Dimarzio EP1201 pot) while the Seymour Duncan diagrams show the tone cap is soldered to the middle lug of the tone pot. I am not sure which way to go. I have CTS pots, btw. Do Dimarzio pots have different lug assignments. I'd like to use the Dimarzio diagram because it is specific to using their stacked rail pickups. Should I get Dimarzio pots or use my CTS pots?

Thanks for any help

The lugs are the same. The diagrams are essentially the same too. The idea is to put the cap and the potentiometer in series to ground. You can use either diagram and they’ll do the same thing. As you turn the pot down it will roll off the higher frequencies to ground and only let the lower frequencies through.
