We have a local pickup guy named Wade..Motor City Pickups. This is the offical PAF replica pickup in my 2 guitars, and the 3 in the sound room at Egnater. Frank and I agreee they are unreal! We highly suggest if you want a 58 or 59 PAF...your search ends with Motor City Pickups! Wade is working on a website but does have a myspace page
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... D=29189970

This guy is unreal with his knowledge about old PAFs...right down to the screw shapes and stuff!

Thanks for the tip. That might be a good replacements for the Burstbucker Pro in my on LP although I do like the BB Pro. The best I had used previously was a Rio Grande BBQ.

Does he make a hotter, more modern pickup? I like some guitars with hotter p'ups and some with more PAF style.

How did you like the BBQ richie,I went through about 5 or 6 sets of pups in my paul and finally put the Muy grande set in and done!Best I've heard for that guitar. It came with Burstbucker pros and I didn't care at all for them,I just got rid of some 57s that came in my custom and now in the search for some hot ass pickups for the custom SG :D

You have the Muy Grande in an LP???? I want to try that one! I have used the BBQ/Texas for years! I want to try something different in my 1994 LP. I was thinking the Muy Grande or the Crunch Box. Thoughts?

I also have a PRS CE-22 and thought of Rios for that too!

The muy grande in my paul is sick,It was the pickiest guitar i've owned,I put the crunch box in my SG voodoo and that took care of that. Both are killer pups but the Alnico in the paul is it for me.I just need a couple for my SG custom now but I might keep looking at the Motor citys.

I was thinking of the Mut Grande for my 1994 LP. But, isn't it supposed to have a single coil type sound? I know they say it splits well. I also heard it compared to the JB so who knows! Anyway, I may try it in my LP. Can you get it nickel covered?

I think I am going with the BBQ/Texas in my 2004 LP.

I have always wanted to try the Crunchbox/punchbox in my PRS CE-22. That has the 5 way rotary but was thinking of chaning it to standard toggle switching. Now, I hear the Muy Grande is excellent at switching so I thought maybe the Muy in the CE and the Crunchbox in my other LP. Oh the decisions! The CE-22 currently has ceramic loaded PRS pickups so maybe the CB.

LOL.

Hey Rich,I love the JB in certain apps but the les paul needed something big,and the muy just sounds fat, huge, responsive, tight, all the above.I did put P/P pots and did the split, although it sounded greatI just can't get over the extra noise of the single mode.Might be insane in the PRS,with the 5 way.The Crunch and punchbox are killer pickups,a ceramic JB with a better attack :D
