Pickups for a Washburn Culprit

there's a guy selling a set of EMG 85-81 pickups locally

I'm not sure if I should change the pickups on my guitar. I'm not entirely pleased with the pickups, but then again I still haven't bought a really good amp ... I'm jamming on a crate powerblock and metal zone, Randall Warhead cab ...

like you might have read on other thread, I want a lead tone that's like Vinnie Moore on Meltdown and a rythm tone a la In Flames minus the drop-tuning or Arch Enemy but a bit more wet
 
Agree, you don't even have to spend that much to get a solid amp. $600 would get you a 5150 just about any day of the week (I say that like $600 isn't much money :) )
 
hopefully I'll settle on some amp fairly soon ... I just don't know what to get lol there's so much stuff out there. Mark IV is interesting, Blackmore, Rivera ... I'll look into Krank even though they don't get a whole lot of good publicity ... Randall MTS interested me for a while, VHT also
