wow! what a GREAT sounding amp.......the clean is amazing and the gain tones are top notch from dirty grit to full blown hi gain.

I played through a couple of teles (the BEST sounding one by far was a Squier Classic) that sounded just sweet! and I also played a Kirk HAmmett LTD sig.

what a great head. What's the price on these amps out there on both the used market and new?

I played through this same rig, same head and cab. This is not my video btw, just the same rig

I love my Hiwatt/SLO. Never had a chance to play a pure Hiwatt.

Yeah, some of the higain hiwatts were made in uk early on but most are made in china. I thought the clips I heard were pretty sweet but I believe they had problems with them, and their builds were nothing like the handwired layouts of old hiwatts. I remember seeing them on eBay on a close out sale for under a grand. You use to be able to pick them up cheaply.

The older ones are a pretty different amp. I have owned a few. I thought they still make some amps in UK ? I see they are making a amp for Dave Grohl ....

" Although known for not really endorsing anything at all, Foo Fighters’ Dave
Grohl has ordered his new Hiwatt, which is about as near as anyone’s going
to get…

I jammed on a HIWATT 100 when I was in my early teens back in the day. I remember thinking its respective owner had a great vibe coming out of it, but I just never had the chutzpah to make it sound good. I usually ended up using the JCM instead. But they're great amps - and a lot of people whose tone I dig use 'em, and I think they're the dirty little brit box thats making a comeback into the mainstream.
