please understand that i already watched the tutorial and it is not as clear as it should be for a noob. on my DMM there are 4 connections at the bottom and are as follows...
A ( 200mA max) OHM COM and V on which of these do i connect the plugs? and the rotater switch should be placed on A DC 200m right? and finally on the amp where does it connect to?! on the solder points connected to the red and yellow wire or the points behind those? i feel that i did it correctly but i get a strange hum coming from the speaker. id appreciate the help

...apologize if this won't answer to your question, but if you're not familiar with this kinda stuff maybe you should go with a Weber Bias Rite BR-4 (octal).
I'm planning to buy one since I'm in your exact same situation and when I'll have to rebias myself I don't wanna mess with it and risk with all the dangerous voltage inside the amp.

Just my advice anyway, if you wanna do it I'm sure you'll find the help you need here...good luck!

I completely agree with VH4paul. Do not risk your life here!!!

At very first, please consider are you really knowing what you are doing or should you take your amp to someone who knows how this should be done? Even when using these bias probes you can cause serious harm to yourself or to your amp if you don't know how to proceed.

About the bias probes, if you are from Europe it might be easier for you to get the Tube Amp Doctor Bias Master (BM4) than the Weber Bias Rite.

They both are a bit expensive as there is nothing fancy in them, except that by using them you are more safe than just pointing your connectors inside your amp circuity. I have biased my VH4 and other amps as well by using both methods, but at the end I desided to make the "investment" for BM4 as it is extremely easy and fast to use it.

Think first act later.

...interesting...how d'you find the TAD Bias Master BM4 compared to the Weber Bias Rite BR-4 (octal)?

I'm in Europe so maybe TAD would be a little easier to get, but on the other hand the Weber has the Plate Voltage reading feature which could be useful to bias the amp correctly. I like the fact that TAD has 4 separate probes so it should be a lot easier to replace if one goes bad while the Weber seems like a one-piece thing (am I right?), but since I don't have a good multimeter I guess that it's better for me to get the most out of a single probe.

What d'you guys think about them?

I've also heard good things about the Compu-Bias, but it's a lot more expensive and you can do only 2 tubes at a time. Although it has some interesting features like the tube dissipation reading and the contemporary test/display of more than a single tube.
