Hi,
I bought a one and a half year old Herbert in a very good condition.
The tubes are the first ones. Today I got the chance to play it.
After having it in the cold car for the whole day I was afraid of damaging the tubes,
so I waited 2 hours (in the room) , before I gave him time to heat up.
But when I started paying, Channel two and Channel three had a little fizzy sound, even when I rolled the Volume at my guitar completely back... I dont mean the "normal" noise of running a tube amp.
While playing, you dont hear anything. But if you stop, there is this little sizzle sound, even at low gain settings.
I looked at the back, if there are some leds pointing to tube damage, but they dont shine.
Just hope, that I dont have to replace the tubes - I am totally out of money after buying this baby...
Any hints?
Another question by the way: I read about cranking it up gives you more mids and highs. Is it better to use the Channel or the master volume for achieving this?
