please help

alright. so i know this has been discussed here before, but in all of the posts i could never definitively figure out how to determine the proper way to hook up different cabs. i have a vh4 and a diezel rl412 cab. which inputs should i plug my cable in to on both the amp and the cab? i think i've read too much and am more confused and keep second guessing myself. please help.

If the cab says 8ohm mono, the one that says 1x8 / 2x16 . Sorry, can't read it well.

Connect one of the middle outputs (labeled 1x8 Ohms / 2x16 Ohms) to the left (red) cab input which says 8 Ohms Mono

alright, thanks. that's how i'd always had it but my friend brought over his amp and made me think i had it hooked up wrong. last thing i'd want to do is damage the amp. thanks again.
