Hi all from downunder,

I have just joined so hi to all and please be kind haha!

I have a Mesa 2x12 - I bought a Plug and Play and as stupid as this seems... I can't get it to do what I want it too...

I have 2 16 ohm speakers.... was an 8 ohm mono jack with the stock Mesa plate.

I have looked at all the schematics and I am either thinking too much or not at all...

To get these to work in stereo and mono on a 2x12 - do the speakers need some jumpers to make them parallel?

Then connect the plug and play? I know the values on the plate will be different given they are 16 ohm speakers. I measure the cables before I use them with MM.

If anyone has one of these and has hooked it up for a 2 x 12 - please help!

Thanks in advance and hi all again!

Wire them up and get a plate with an 8ohm mono or 2x16ohm stereo switch with 2 inputs.

I hate how Mesa does shit. Don't know why they can't do a stereo/mono switch on their 2x12's, or how they make everything 8 ohms.

The Plug and Play I am talking about is this: https://www.evatco.com.au/plug-and-play-jack-plate

So the jack is meant to do everything... my question is more about the wiring of the speakers before I attach this.

Do the speakers need a jumper from + to neg on both lugs first and then attach this?

I am horrible with this stuff... I am an over thinker (I know everyone will say just read the schematics)… but as it's a pre- wired plate I get confused.

Whatever the outcome I know I need to ignore the values on the jacks as my speakers are both 16 ohms.

Dude now I remember. I have one around here that I bought. Do you think I should move this to the tech section instead of here? I guess it doesn’t matter.

I had a genz Benz gflex 2x12 that was wired up like what you want. I will start looking a little myself.
